AQUATICS INDUSTRY CLUSTER

The aquatics industry cluster group is working toward realizing the full potential of the Cape Breton and Nova Scotia oyster industry through research and collaborative efforts. A long standing and productive relationship in both education (over 30 years) and research with First Nations communities and First Nations organizations around the island positions us well to engage all stakeholders to facilitate the development of a successful oyster aquaculture industry in and around Cape Breton and throughout the province and region. The team is also involved with remediation strategies using organic extractives to purify contaminated water supplies.
